  1. Bleeding gums

    Do this

Keep brushing gently with a soft brush, rinse with warm salt water, and don't skip flossing.

    When to see us

If the bleeding lasts more than a week, or your gums are swollen or sore.

  2. Sensitive teeth

    Do this

Use a desensitising toothpaste, avoid very hot or very cold food, and don't scrub hard.

    When to see us

If the pain is sharp, lingers after eating, or wakes you at night.

  3. Bad breath

    Do this

Clean your tongue every day, drink plenty of water, and floss to clear trapped food.

    When to see us

If it stays even with a good daily routine.

  4. Food stuck between teeth

    Do this

Use floss or an interdental brush. Never a pin, a toothpick or anything sharp.

    When to see us

If food keeps getting stuck in the same place.

  5. Swollen gum or a gum boil

    Do this

Rinse with warm salt water and keep the area clean. Don't squeeze or pierce it.

    When to see us

Soon. A pimple on the gum is often a sign of infection that needs treatment.

  6. Loose teeth or receding gums

    Do this

Brush softly along the gumline and avoid chewing hard food on that side.

    When to see us

Soon, don't wait. Early treatment can often save the tooth.

General advice, not a diagnosis. If in doubt, call us.
